Complete step-by-step guide to cancel orders on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal – rules, penalties, refund process & compliance in 2026.

How to Cancel a GeM Order (Step-by-Step 2026 Guide)

Go to gem.gov.in and log in to your seller or buyer dashboard.

Navigate to Dashboard → My Orders or Order Management. Search for the order using Order ID, date, or buyer/seller name.

You can only cancel if:
  • Order status is "Placed", "Accepted" or "Acknowledged"
  • Not yet "Dispatched", "Delivered" or "Service Started"
  • Within 24–72 hours of order acceptance (exact time shown in order details)

Click "Cancel Order" or "Request Cancellation" → Select a valid reason → Submit via OTP verification.

• Buyer must approve seller-initiated cancellation (and vice versa)
• Refund (if paid) processed via PFMS/IFMS within 7–15 working days
• Track status in "My Orders" section
